I live in a small town in the Otways called Forrest. Luckily I moved here when it was still a logging town and the house prices were reasonable. For many years I had to leave town to find work but when the saw mill closed a town meeting was held and the residents decided we had enough natural resources to open up the bush to Mountain Bike Riders. As the Trails developed so did the need for Accommodation and I was able to expand my cleaning business.
On top of this business I was able to buy the original Forrest General Store which had stopped operating in the late 1960s. It became a residence only. But the building was neglected so living here was impossible unless you want to live with possums, mice, spiders and dead ants which fall out of the ceiling on a regular basis. Of course eventually renovations will remedy this but it is currently successful as a second hand shop full of Antiques and Bric a Brac. It also stocks hand made artisan goods. So browse these pages and pop into the shop some time or call me.
